Adult Learn to Row Program-June 3,  5-8, 2017

Adult Learn-to-Row program is designed to help transition potential members into the club with confidence in their rowing ability.  The program is open to anyone over the age of 15 interested in learning more about this team sport.

Saturday, June 3rd, will begin with registration at 8:30am with instruction beginning promptly at 9:00. We will include a 2 hour "dry-land" training session to learn rowing terms and safety, technique on "ergs" (rowing machines), and dock box instruction. After that, we will spend about an hour and a half on the water in one of the CLRA's beautiful 4 or 8 person rowing shells. At noon, after our row, all participants and volunteers are invited to join us for a picnic lunch provided by the club.

The following week, Monday through Thursday, the program will continue each evening from 5:30 to 8pm. At the end of the 5 day course, you will know basic rowing terms and safety, be able to use a rowing erg correctly, as well as comfortably row in a racing shell in the Chadokoin River and Chautauqua Lake.

This introductory program was created based on feedback from previous classes so we hope you will join us for this opportunity to learn a new sport!
